Before initiating the transfer process, it’s essential to get in touch with SST Firearms to inform them about your intention to transfer a firearm. Step 2: Gather Required Information

To facilitate the transfer process, we will need to gather some essential information, including:

- Your personal details (name, address, contact information)

- Details of the firearm you intend to transfer (make, model, serial number)

- Any pertinent documentation related to the firearm (purchase receipt, ownership documents)

Having this information readily available will streamline the transfer process and ensure everything moves smoothly.

Step 3: Arrange for Firearm Shipment

Once you’ve coordinated with SST Firearms and gathered all the necessary information, you’ll need to arrange for the shipment of the firearm to their location. Ensure that you comply with all federal and state laws regarding the shipping of firearms to avoid any legal complications.

Step 4: Visit SST Firearms for Background Check

Once the firearm has been delivered to our location, you will need to visit SST Firearms to complete the transfer process. Below are the fees for the transfer:

FFL TRANSFERS

We can no longer field questions over the phone regarding transfers. The extremely high volume of calls we get asking transfer questions has caused us to automate the process. So, we have created this self-serve system to streamline all incoming and outgoing firearms transfers. Answers to all your transfer questions can be found below. If by some chance your situation is unique and an answer to your question cannot be found below, you may send us the details via our contact page, and we will do our best to address your situation in a timely manner.

INCOMING GUN TRANSFERS

A transfer fee is $35 for the 1st 4473 and $5 for each additional firearm listed on the same 4473. for additional 4473s there will be a charge of $15 plus and additional $5 per firearms.

From an individual to SST Firearms: $40.00 (Contrary to common belief, it is LEGAL for an

individual to ship a firearm to an FFL for transfer.)

If you are arranging to purchase a firearm from an individual, to ship it to SST Firearms for

transfer to you, please have the shipper (seller) enclose a legible copy of their driver’s license or State ID card.

Failure of the shipping party to provide a physical copy of their FFL (if an FFL holder) or a copy of their

valid Driver’s License/ ID Card (if shipper is a non-FFL holder) will result in an additional charge of

$25.00 to be paid by the receiving individual. This is non-negotiable.

If you buy a gun online (for instance, from another dealer or on Gun broker), our FFL can conveniently

be printed out using the link below.

You will then contact the dealer and provide them with a copy of our FFL, and then the dealer will ship

the gun to us.

Pay attention to any tracking info sent to you. We are not responsible for tracking your gun for you.

Your gun will be available for pick up the day after it is delivered.

We will identify your transfer item by the tracking number on the outside of the package. Please have

this information at hand when you arrive to pick up your item. We receive multiple similar items

every day.

OUTGOING TRANSFERS

We also offer shipping services (outgoing transfers). Many FFLs will not accept shipments from

unlicensed individuals (non-FFLs). If you sell a gun and need to ship it, and the buyer’s FFL will only

accept shipments from other FFLs, we can ship it for you. The cost for this service is $35.00 for the

transfer, plus the actual shipping (postage) cost. Most handguns ship for $25.00 postage, and most long

guns ship for $30 – $80 postage.

NFA TRANSFERS

SST Firearms uses the ATF eForms website for all NFA Items.

We CAN NOT expedite any services provided through Silencer Shop; you are subject to their submission times.

We provide NFA transfers for Full-autos, Silencers, Short Barrel Rifles/Shotguns.

Inbound Transfer fee is $125.00 per item on individual Form 4.

There will be an additional fee of $50.00 for NFA trusts for up to 3 people on the trust. It will be an

additional $15.00 per person on the trust after that.

Outbound NFA Transfer fee is FREE per item on Form 3 plus actual shipping, at time of purchase from

us.

Outbound NFA Transfer from an individual (You), $200.00 Tax Stamp on a form 4 from you to us then

fee is $125.00 per item on Form 3 plus actual shipping.

During your visit, you will undergo the required background check as per Virginia state law. Once the background check is completed, and all necessary paperwork is processed, the firearm will be transferred to you legally.

Step 5: Complete Transfer Paperwork

Before leaving SST Firearms premises, ensure that you complete all necessary paperwork related to the firearm transfer. This may include filling out a transfer form, providing identification, and signing any required documents.

Step 6: Take Possession of the Firearm

Once all paperwork is completed and the background check has been approved, you will be able to take possession of the transferred firearm. If you are delayed on the background check for any reason, you will be notified once we have the approval and can schedule another day to pick up your firearm.
